Overview

Enjoy a walking tour of the Asakusa District, the historical heart of Tokyo's Shitamachi (downtown) roots, from where the megalopolis grew to its current size. Combined with this, enjoy the totally 21st century experience of a visit to Tokyo Sky Tree, for an unparalleled view (weather permitting) across Tokyo and the Kanto Plain.

Highlights

In Asakusa, see Kaminarimon Gate, visit Sensoji Temple and enjoy a rickshaw ride through the backstreets of Tokyo's historic heart. At Tokyo Sky Tree visit the Main Observatory at 350 metres. The journey between Asakusa & the Sky Tree will be by Tokyo-Skytree-Line local railway (tickets included)

ASAKUSA

Asakusa, in north-east Tokyo, is the metropolis' historical centre, originally known as 'Edo', and was the heart of the city during the 'Edo' period of Japanese history which lasted from the 17th to 19th centuries. In addition to being one of Tokyo's most important sightseeing stops, featuring Sensoji Temple & Kaminarimon Gate, Asakusa is one of the best areas in Tokyo to shop for souvenirs and traditional items. Tokyo Sky Tree is 21st Century Tokyo single largest icon, and offers the ultimate vistas across the megalopolis from its Main Observatory

TOKYO SKY TREE

Opened in May 2012, 634 metre tall Tokyo Sky Tree is recognised by the Guiness Book of Records as the world’s tallest tower.
Take a high-speed elevator to the first observation platform at 350 metres, and if you’d like to go a little higher, move on to the second platform at 450 metres, for views like that above.
